Dana 300 SHORTY Strongbox

The Dana 300 SHORTY Strongbox underdrive by Behemoth Drivetrain is engineered for extreme strength, low weight, and incredible performance.  We offer both a fully geared, assembled and ready to install model, AND a  DIY builder's model that is case only - allowing you to use and install your own gears.

NV271 Gear Compatibility: The NV271 SHORTY Strongbox is designed to be compatible with NV271 and NV273 series gears.  These cases do not work with NP242 gears. 

NP241 Gear Compatibility: The NP241 Standard Strongbox case is designed to be compatible with NP231, NP233, NP236, NP241, NP243 and NP246 series gears.  These underdrives do not work with NP242 gears.  

Billet Aluminum over Cast: Instead going cheap by using cast aluminum – which can be weakened by air pockets and the  repeated heating and cooling cycles of the casting process – we manufacture the Strongbox from solid Billet 6061 aircraft grade aluminum.  If strength, performance and durability are a priority – there’s no question billet is the way to go.

Hardened Steel for Extreme Reliability:  The Strongbox shifter assembly utilizes case hardened steel designed to hold up against the most aggressive shifting and extreme conditions.  The Shorty Strongbox shaft is made from exceptionally hard 4340 alloy steel that is heat treated to provide incredible strength.  Throw anything you can at this shaft – you’ll break before it does…
